LUCKNOW: Kamal Khan, A renowned journalist passes away of a heart attack at his home in Lucknow, at the age of 61. He was associated with NDTV for the last 30 years. Kamal Khan started his journey as a reporter at a local news channel ‘Amrit Prabhat’ in Lucknow. Later he worked at several Hindi news publications like Navbharat times and Dainik Jagran. In 1995, he joined NDTV as a reporter, later he was promoted as the Resident Editor of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Kamal was known for his unique way of giving PTCs (piece to camera). He was skilled in integrating couplets of Ramcharitmanas and Quran in his scripts and brought a humane touch to his reports. Among his peers, Kamal
Khan was known as a meticulous living example of Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb. He was well versed in the Russian language.
Even a day before his demise, Kamal Khan made observations on the status of misogyny and patriarchy in contemporary Indian society. Kamal Khan in his Third-decade long media career has received many awards. He was a recipient of the Ram Nath Goenka Award & the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award for his contribution to the field of journalism.
In 2018, He delivered a lecture on “Peaceful religious coexistence reality or myth” at a TEDx talk. After his passing away, several celebrities and media fraternity showed condolences on social media. We all will remember him for his calm & outstanding way of presenting news
